As we all know, some things go hand in hand, like say for instance, peanut butter and jelly, or peas and carrots and Cars and technology are no different. While there have been some automobile advancements that have kept us safe {like airbags} or helped us get to where we needed to be {like GPS}, one thing is certain.  Cadillac has redefined cutting edge technology of cars for the new millennium with their new systems including digital gauge clusters.  Active safety is an important factor that is taken into account in automobile advancement, and Cadillac has proven that its systems are definitely up to par in providing optimum performance.

The list of some of the technological services that Cadillac cars provide is as follows:

Adaptive Cruise Control.  This uses a laser or radar to properly adjust the vehicle’s speed, depending on how far or close the car in front of you is located.  If the car in front of you slows down, so does your car.  If the car in front of you accelerates and speeds up, then you do as well.  ACC is very much ideal for traffic congestion and those who travel often through the hustle and bustle of busy highways.

gauge clusterHead-Up Display.  This displays important vehicle information such as speed, RPM’s, and mileage by the projection of digital readouts on the windshield.  While this system has been around in one form or another for decades, just recently technology has made it so that it is now an option in select Cadillac cars.  Up until now, it had only been used by the military for fighter jets.  Now, thanks to the use of this device, you can concentrate on driving without taking your eyes off the road.

Blind Zone Alert.  This is a system that user’s radar beams to sweep a pre-determined 11 ft x 16 ft area zone that is located alongside the car.  Once you see an orange icon that lights the side of the mirror that has an object within the blind spot, this lets you know that the idea of a lane change is not safe.

Lane Departure System.  This system uses markings on the road to identity the path of travel, thanks to a camera that is hidden between the windshield and rear view mirror.  If you, the driver, should drift from this path for any reason at all, the car will flash alert lights and sound an alert.  The only way to disable this system is by use of a turn signal.

Driver Information Center.  This all-in-one information display keeps you informed of all important vehicle data.  All 46 driving points are monitored, such as tire pressure, trip odometer, oil pressure, and fuel info.  In addition, there are some things that you can control just by the slight movement of your fingertips like: door-locking features, headlight settings, mirror and seat positions, interior lighting, etc.

 Gauge Cluster

Gauge cluster is incredible in term of providing enormous amount of information displayed at once with ease.

There’s no doubt in my mind that due to all of the advancements mentioned, thanks to Cadillac, hundreds of lives will be spared.  If you combine all these technological advancements together, any driver who had all these tools would definitely be sure that a safer drive is in their future.
